ICAO Visit - 2010

At its last Council Meeting, the Academy accepted the bid from Romania to hold the 2011 ICASM.

Soon after that, the President of ICAO visited the Romanian National Institute of Aerospace Medicine, a first from an ICAO standpoint.

In connection with his official visit to Government Authorities in Romania, Mr. Roberto Kobeh González, President of ICAO, accepted the invitation extended and approved the inclusion of the National Institute of Aerospace Medicine (INMAS) in his official agenda visits.

• Dragos Popescu, M.D., Ph.D. (Head of INMAS Research and Aeronautical Physiology Department)
• Dragos Vlad, M.D. (Public Relations INMAS Officer).

Professor Marian Macri, M.D., Ph.D. in addition to demonstrating the Institute’s facilities, informed ICAO’s President of the preparations to host the 2011 International Congress of Aviation and Space Medicine and the fact that Aerospace Medicine has been included in the curriculum of studies in Medical School.

Under the leadership of Professor Marian Macri, M.D., Ph.D. the ICASM 2011 promises to be an excellent congress.
